When I think of an elephant, I envision an ancient creature often misunderstood, yet deeply connected to its community. We know they live in close-knit groups, bury their dead, and even visit burial sites years later.
This red elephant appeared to me as a spirit, reminding me—living in Los Angeles—that sentient and intelligent life forms are all around us and in modern times we need to awaken our eyes to feel them. It is a major guardian of the natural world.
The elephant told me to paint it red, to give it a specific number of eyes of 10, each carrying significance for those who seek to embrace its power. Revered in African culture, this red elephant is a spirit guardian of the planet, recognized across cultures from East to West.
